Gift wrap a stunning jewel for your wife, this Karva Chauth

Gift wrap a stunning jewel for your wife, this Karva Chauth

A big shout out to the husbands out there. Are you listening? Like every year, this year too Karva Chauth is going to be a grand affair in the family. Celebrated on the fourth day of the waning moon in the month of Kartik according to the Hindu Calendar, this year the festival is falling on the 27th of October.

Since it is round the corner, you can already sense the festivity in the air. While your wife is giving finishing touches to her festive ensemble, your mother too must be busy shopping for her Sargi. Other than them, your friends and relatives too would be looking forward to this grand annual event. Surely, you too are excited about this fun-filled day. After all, this is all for you. For your long life, your prosperity and your good health.

As per the tradition, your wife would be waking up before sunrise this day, enjoy the Sargi offered to her by your mother and then, start her day-long fast wherein she won’t have even a drop of water. During the day, she’ll adorn herself with the ensemble of Solah Shringar including henna on her hands and feet, just like a new bride and then, get together with other women to perform the puja. Only after performing the rituals of offering the prayer to the moon, she will open the fast by your hand – Mr. husband. Note that, on this day, the moon shows up way too late.

For all the efforts that your wife has put in to make this festival a grand event, wouldn’t you want to make her feel special. She may have not fought the Lord Yama to save your life like Karva or Sati did to save their respective husbands’ lives but her faith in these legends and the rituals, definitely deserves to be rewarded with a special gift from you. Something that will not just pleasantly surprise her for the moment but also she will always cherish all her life.

How about jewellery? There is nothing as long lasting as jewellery and also that, at the end of the day, your wife is a woman and a woman’s love affair with sparkling things is common knowledge. So, treat her to an exquisite jewel that she must have ever mentioned to you or simply, something of your choice.
